Epilepsy affects millions of people worldwide, with many experiencing seizures that medications cannot fully control. Caregivers face immense stress and challenges in providing timely support, especially at night. Recognising this, Dutch epilepsy centers SEIN and Kempenhaeghe embarked on groundbreaking research into nocturnal epilepsy detection, evolving from motion pattern monitoring to heart rate and motion analysis.<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In 2011, the Tele-Epilepsie Consortium was established, uniting UMC Utrecht, Eindhoven University of Technology, SEIN, Kempenhaeghe, patient groups, and EpilepsieNL. Together, they developed an innovative system to remotely warn caregivers of clinically urgent seizures, offering a simple yet effective solution for both professional and home settings.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Building on years of collaboration, LivAssured was founded in 2013 to bring this life-changing technology to market. At its core, it is a unique algorithm that detects clinically urgent seizures by analysing heart rate and movement patterns. Since its launch in 2018, NightWatch has grown into a leading solution worldwide, with thousands of users.
